Coffs 4WD Centre Team Members
Proprietor
Slade Gentle
Slade when not at work is often found working on his Ranger or one of the many car projects he has under way. Slade also brings to the table skills he has picked up from his fathers engineering and machinist business.
Slade started his mechanical apprenticeship with Coffs 4wd in 2018 after completing his High School Certificate with automotive studies a part of that. Developing an interest in all things cars particularly 4wd and he has fitted in well.
Slade has been camping and 4wdriving from a young age with his family and loves a good 4wd challenge. He gets out on camping trips with mates and has travelled around most of NSW, QLD and South Australia.
Slade continues to build on his skill set.
Mechanic
Tim Cahill
Tim in his spare time involves himself in all sorts of outdoor pursuits, having grown up on many family adventures in the back of the Land Rover 110 his dad still drives today.
Tim did work experience at Coffs 4wd in late 2009 and continued volunteering his own time during school holidays. Tim was keen to say the least so started his apprenticeship at Coffs Harbour 4wd Centre in 2010 and took to the tasks given enthusiastically. He has grown to be a well rounded mechanic with many skills. Tim can turn his hands to the many varied jobs we take on at Coffs 4wd and passionately completes them to a high standard.
In his spare time if he is not working on one of his many Land Rovers he is either out in his boat fishing or out camping in any one of the magnificent camping spots out and around Coffs.
Tim also loves to regularly get out and drive the more challenging 4wd tracks around Coffs, quite often taking the back tracks on the way home, sometimes turning the trip home into a winch challenge.
Mechanic
John Hutchison
John has been playing with 4wd’s since he was knee high to a grasshopper. Starting and influenced like many by his father’s Series II Land Rover named Blue Racer.
John for 23 years was a projectionist working the late hours of night running the films and movies we all love to watch at the cinema. With all this spare time during the day John built all sorts of 4wd machines such as a 38 inch tyre Land Cruisers, wagon to dual cab conversions and a 4wd Commodore with 33 inch tyres. He built, modified and played with Suzuki’s for many years also owning and rebuilding a Series III Land Rover.
Nowadays John owns and drives a couple of Land Cruisers, a 60 Series and a 40 Series, his preferred choice of 4wd. John obtained his tradesman certificate in 2000 and has continued to educate himself with the various tickets of this trade. John loves a challenge and excels in the many engineering type challenges that we take on at Coffs 4wd Centre.
